Resolverite Spotlight: Nina Tosic
This month’s Resolverite Spotlight is Nina Tosic! Resolver’s Talent Specialist, Miriam Simmonds sat down with Nina, a Sales Development Representative based out of our Toronto office, to learn more about her role and what her day-to-day is like at Resolver.
Miriam: Tell me about your time here at Resolver?
Nina: I started working at Resolver in January 2018, so it’s been one year now! Because Resolver is growing so quickly, I’ve learned so much. It feels like I’ve been here much longer!
Miriam: What is your role here?
Nina: I am currently working as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) and am the initial point of contact for any interested prospective client. My area of focus is in the corporate security division.
Miriam: What does a typical day look for you?
Nina: There are typical tasks I do as part of my role: qualification calls with prospects, outbound call and email campaigns, industry research, and specific company research in preparation for the prospect meetings. I also work with closely with other teams to determine a strategy to present to potential clients. I love that sales is a very cross-functional role. I get the opportunity to work with Account Executives, Solution Engineers, and members of the product and marketing teams.
Miriam: Why Resolver, what do you love about working here?
Nina: The first reason is the people and the culture. When I first started here, I had the support of my teammates and it really helped me grow and succeed in my new role. I am surrounded by the best talent, and we are all striving to make this organization grow. We are all collaborators and team players. Resolver cares about personal career growth, and they foster an environment of opportunity. If you are ambitious and you keep working hard, there are opportunities to keep growing at Resolver. It’s very important for me to work for a company that fosters growth, that’s why I enjoy doing the work here.
Miriam: Why sales?
Nina: Sales is a unique role – you are the value driver of an organization and have direct impact on the success of the company. I also love building connections with people. I am a people person and in general, working in sales is a great way for me to foster and build relationships. One big thing we focus on at Resolver is consultative selling. We are there to listen to our potential customers needs and goals. We want to provide the client with a product that will help them achieve their business goals. It’s not your “stereotypical” sales process, we consult with the clients to figure out what their problem is, how we can resolve it and guide them towards success.
Miriam: What is a piece of advice you would give to someone looking to start a career in sales?
Nina: If you are the kind of person who wants to make an impact and build strong interpersonal skills, working in sales is a great place to see the impact of your work. If you put in the hard work, you will see the results, and you’ll experience personal growth. Sales is challenging and takes you out of your comfort zone, but the experience is super rewarding.
Miriam: What did you imagine you would do when you were little?
Nina: I always imagined that I would be a vet! I love animals, but I did not love science as much!
Miriam; What’s next for you at Resolver?
Nina: I definitely see Resolver a place where I want to grow my career. In the next year, I see myself continuing to be challenged and taking on new opportunities!
Thanks for sharing, Nina! If you liked getting the inside scoop on what it’s like to work at Resolver, be sure to come back next month for our next spotlight.
