Posted December 19, 2019 by Resolver

Prakasa rao chitrapuThis month’s Resolverite Spotlight is Prakasa Rao Chitrapu, QE Team Lead from our Hyderabad, India office! Our team in India is about 50 people and is part of India’s ever-growing Hitech City. Prakasa started working at Resolver as a Quality Assurance Engineer and he was promoted to QE Team Lead team. This month, Resolver’s Technical Recruitment Specialist, Miriam Simmonds sat down with Prakasa to get his perspective, and to find out more about his experience as part of our global team!

Miriam: We have 5 Culture Critter based on our values, what’s your Resolver Culture Critter?

Prakasa: I am a Collaborative Camel

Miriam: Oh, nice, I’m sure being collaborative comes in handy working with colleagues in 7 regions!

Miriam: So, what does a typical day look for you?

Prakasa: I start off the day by looking at my calendar for any scheduled changes and I plan my tasks accordingly based on priority. In between I play Table Tennis, Caroms, and going for coffee/tea with my colleagues when I need a break from my work.

Miriam: Speaking of work, what has been your favourite project at Resolver?

Prakasa: I have really enjoyed working our Information Security product, it has created great learning and growth opportunities for me.

Miriam: I’m sure it is rewarding to work on a product that you know is helping our customers, and we work with some well recognized companies!

Miriam: What’s the best thing about your job?

Prakasa: I get a lot of support from my team and my manager. We have team meetings and activities to make sure that everyone understands the goals we are trying to achieve – setting goals as a team helps us solve problems together. It’s a collaborative process.

Miriam: What’s the best thing about Resolver?

Prakasa: I really like the flexibility, transparency and accessibility to all the teams globally.

Miriam: I agree with you, I also really like being able to work with Resolverites in different parts of the world – with tools like Slack and Zoom, it makes staying connected easy, even with the 10-hour time difference!

Miriam: What has been one of your proudest moments working at Resolver?

Prakasa: Being promoted to a Team Lead is something that I am proud of.

Miriam: What is a piece of advice you would give to someone looking to start a career in Quality Engineering?

Prakasa: Software Quality Assurance Engineer is a great role.  It is perfect for people who like to experiment – it is our job to think of all the possible ways to verify a product. A chance to come up with out of the box solutions.

Miriam: We are going to shift things a little bit as we prepare to finish this spotlight. What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?

Prakasa: I spend my free time with friends or with my family. Singing and dancing, and making funny videos. I am also interested in current affairs and I enjoy reading and watching health related articles and videos.

Miriam: What did you imagine you would do when you were little?

Prakasa: I wanted to be a Doctor. I guess being a QE is something like being a doctor (laughing);, I diagnose issues in the product, and make the product “get better”.  I like seeing the impact of the work that I am doing.

Miriam: What’s next for you at Resolver?

Prakasa: I want to be able to work on all existing products and manage Manual, Automation and Security Testing teams.

Miriam: I am looking forward to seeing your career progresses at Resolver! And hopefully I’ll get to India to try some of its famous biryani.

Thanks for sharing with us Prakasa! If you liked getting the inside scoop on what it’s like to work at Resolver, be sure to come back next month for our next spotlight.
