Building a Better ERM Program within Canadian Credit Unions

All Events

Date: March 9, 2018
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST

Over the past decade, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) has emerged as a key discipline for adding value and reducing risk across the Canadian credit union sector. Board members and executives alike are gaining clarity and comfort regarding the key risks facing their organizations and are helping to drive appropriate, responsive actions for current and emerging risks. As a result, credit unions and their members, along with relevant regulators, are sleeping better at night, knowing that their assets are covered.

However, as an emerging discipline, the maturity, value and impact of ERM programs can vary widely. Fortunately, there are key stakeholders from across the Canadian credit union sector that have been actively engaged in promoting ERM that are willing to share their experiences and suggestions for enhancing program success. Throughout this webinar, we’ll reveal those opportunities through the following questions:

1. Which foundational elements are most important in driving ERM program success and continuous improvement?
2. How can you best define, enhance and “sell” the value of ERM within your organization, addressing both value and compliance drivers?
3. Given practical budget and resource constraints, how can you ensure that ERM efforts are properly shared across key stakeholders while still ensuring efficient, timely and focused outcomes that address the needs of the Board, executives, members and regulators?
4. What are some key strategies for successfully addressing ERM requirements with your regulator(s)?
5. What are the top three risks that are currently keeping Canadian credit union executives and Board members up at night – and what is being done to help them sleep better?
